Nazi Hunters Are Getting Closer To Dr.Death

dr. death

YIPEE!

Nazi hunters said today (Thursday) they were closer to tracking down Aribert Heim, that “Doctor Death” whacktard we ranted on yesterday.

Sergio Widder, Latin American director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, says: “We have hard facts, which are credible, but have to be checked. Those who spoke to us did so in good faith, without trying to twist the information.”

Widder said dozens of people had come forward with information on Heim, which led the Center’s investigators to this town, some 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) south of the Chilean capital of Santiago.

All those who offered details on Heim were interviewed by Efraim Zuroff, Director of Israel’s Wiesenthal Center, who told reporters:

“All the information we have points to Heim living in this area. Somewhere between Puerto Montt and Bariloche.”

“We think there must be someone here who may have the key to finding Heim. There is a 500,000 (315,000 euro) dollar reward for that person, provided by Heim’s victims.”

Zuroff said no matter how old Heim was, he had to be held accountable for his crimes saying:

“He castrated people, he used parts of their body to decorate his office. I’m not giving out these details to emotionalize the issue, but for people to understand how important it is to catch this criminal.”

Completely agree. Not doing so would be to say you can get away with genocide if you are old enough. BS!

The Wiesenthal delegation said they had found Heim’s daughter Waltraut Boser in Puerto Montt, but had not contacted her. Now 60, Boser is believed to be married to a local businessman and to have lived in Chile some 30 years.

During that time, she has traveled to Europe roughly 50 times, and in the last two years visited the Bariloche area in neighboring Argentina about a dozen times.

FOLLOW THAT BOSER!

Thailand Foreign Minister Quits

NAPPADON PATTAMA

Thai Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama has resigned after a top court ruled he violated the constitution by signing a deal over a disputed temple.

Cambodia had been petitioning to have the Preah Vihear Hindu temple, near the Thai-Cambodian border listed as a World Heritage site. (It was awarded Unesco World Heritage status on Monday)

But judges ruled the government should not have backed Cambodia without asking parliament, because the temple is built on land disputed by the two countries.

Noppadon made the announcement that he was stepping down on national television saying:

“But I insist that I have done nothing wrong. I have not sold out the country. I love Thailand, and would not cause any damage to the country.”

“I want to see national reconciliation. In order for the government to continue working to solve the country’s problems, I resign.”

Wow. Maybe he means it.

“He sees me, his wife, who struggles every day with that guilt that we all hold deep in our hearts as women. That guilt that you don’t have the choice to stay home, and even if you do, you feel guilty.”

“He has seen me struggle with this my entire life. Trust me, Barack understands the struggles of women.”

We trust you MO!

Bush Makes It Legal

uncle sam spying

President George W. Bush signed a law allowing him and his homies to spy some more on your already surveillanced ass.

Bush said: “This law will protect the liberties of our citizens while maintaining the vital flow of intelligence.”

The bill authorizes U.S. intelligence agencies to eavesdrop without court approval on foreign targets believed to be outside the United States.

The package comes with a legal immunity for the phone companies who participated in Bush’s wiretapping party after the 9-11 attacks. It also grants the ability to invoke emergency wiretapping procedures. Last time I check it was still code reddish-orange so go figure.

Cops Find $400k Cocaine Stash In Cop Car

me gusta cocaina

Dallas Police were driving around in an undercover car stashed with $400,000 worth of cocaine that took them two months to discover.

The two-door 2004 black Infiniti was put into police service on May 7 after seizing it at a drug house earlier this year along with a 1999 Honda.

Bernal said the narcotics division searched both vehicles and found nothing unusual after the seizure.

An officer cleaning the car at a patrol station yesterday discovered the nearly 50 pounds of cocaine hidden in hydraulically controlled compartments.

“These compartments have recently been more and more popular with drug operations,” said Deputy Chief Julian Bernal, commander of the narcotics division.

If they’re so popular how come the dingalings didn’t search in there?

Oh and the Honda? Sold at an auction.

Bernal says they plan to contact the person who bought the Honda to check if drugs are hidden in that car, too. And, they want to find out who owned the cocaine they have been cruising with.

Ummmm probably the people you seized the car from at the drug house smart ones.

35.9% More Join Georgia’s Unemployed

georgia unemployment

The Georgia Department of Labor has announced 45,553 laid-off workers filed first-time claims for unemployment insurance benefits in June — a 35.9 percent increase over June 2007.

The total number of people on unemployment benefits was up 46.7 percent over the year, from 55,450 in June 2007 to 81,321 in June 2008.

The May-to-June increase was 1.9 percent, with most of the increase coming from trade and services.

State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says: “The June report is further confirmation of the trend toward higher unemployment. Since the beginning of the year, initial claims have been running in excess of 30 percent over the same period last year. The economic downturn that began with the credit crunch has accelerated with significant costs of food and fuel causing many employers to reduce hiring or eliminate jobs.”

Thurmond said that the Georgia Department of Labor will provide assistance to the 171 employees of General Time’s Athens manufacturing operation and Norcross corporate headquarters who were laid off.

“These workers are eligible for extended benefits under the Trade Adjustment Act, which is available to certain workers laid off due to foreign competition. If they choose to attend training, they can get up to 78 weeks combined unemployment benefits and trade readjustment allowance. They are also entitled to out-of-area job search assistance and relocation assistance, if necessary.”

yeah . . . that still leaves way over 45,000 buddy.

I love how they always focus on the problem never the solution. Instead of saying “Jeez how do we start generating more jobs for these people” they half-ass it and resort to “how many more can we keep from bitching with more benefits and how many can we ship out of town?”
