Obama Has Regrets Too
Days after Barack Obama allowed Access Hollywood reporter Maria Menounos a sit-down interview (above) with his entire family, including daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha 7, Obama says he regrets thrusting his daughters in the media spotlight. Obama told NBC this morning:
“I think that we got carried away in the moment. We were having a birthday party and everybody was laughing, and suddenly this thing cropped up, and I didn’t catch it quickly enough and I was surprised by the attention it got.”
“Particularly given the way it sort of went around the cable stations, I don’t think it’s healthy and it’s something that we’ll be avoiding in the future.”
As for Menounos, she tells CNN:
“No one really expected them to open up so much. You know the campaign and their family were all huddled around and surprised that the girls took over the interview, as I was!”
It’s nice to know Obama’s not keen on milking his daughters out for publicity, even if they are absolutely adorable.
