Puerto Rican Meet and Greet

Yup, it happened.
During my stay here at la isla del encanto, I got to meet Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner/ Governor-to-be Luis Fortuño.
AND got a smooch on the cheek! Love those Latinos . . .
The 4 de Julio rocked in San Juan. SanJuaneros paraded from plaza to plaza and launched some not too shabby fireworks at the [...]


Boricuas Like Lattes Too

Starbucks Coffee Co. says it will close three of its stores in Puerto Rico’s capital by the end of June. That leaves just 19 left on the isla!
Spokesman Adolfo Santana says the stores struggled financially because they were too close to other Starbucks.

Puerto Rican Flag Burner: Your Ass Is Grass

 
Someone set fire to the Puerto Rican flag hanging on the side of Lisa Rodriguez’s home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Lisa says:
“We’re just representing who we are. We’re not trying to harm anyone.”
That’s right Lisa. Let’s remind this ignorant individual just who you and every Puerto Rican on or off the island are:

One More Reason Puerto Rico Rocks

Puerto Rico’s House of Representatives has DENIED a measure to toughen a ban on same-sex marriage.  
Rep. Victor Garcia San Inocencio says Resolution 99 failed on Thursday to make it to the House floor for voting, effectively killing the proposal for this legislative term.
